What is Pose2Lux?
Pose2Lux is a python script which exports a Poser scene in a format that enables it to be rendered in LuxRender - a free, open source renderer. When run from within Poser it presents a graphical user interface that allows a variety of parameters to be configured (and saved for later use) and then outputs a text file in a format that LuxRender can read directly.

History
Pose2Lux is a development of a previous endeavor known as the LuxPose project. The primary developers of LuxPose were the Renderosity members adp_001, bagginsbill and odf, with contributions from Dizzi and others. While LuxPose was never properly completed, it did leave behind a codebase that could export a Poser scene and a wealth of useful discoveries about the parameters that LuxRender used. When it became unclear whether or not LuxPose was ever going to be completed, odf generously offered up his geometry exporter code to anyone who could make use of it. With that magnanimous gesture, Pose2Lux was born. While there are traces of the LuxPose project's code to be found within Pose2Lux, odf's code remains at the very heart of Pose2Lux, virtually intact.
